Fuji Sengen Jinja shrine in Japan is one of the ancient and largest forest shrines. It is located in the dense forest lined up with stone lanterns and covered by cedar trees.
It is spread over 99,000 square meters and dedicated to the Konohanasakuya-hime-no-mikoto as the main god, her husband Ninigi-no-mikoto and her father Ohyamazumi-no-kami.
The Gods of this shrine protect the marital harmony and the happiness of the family. The Goddess of Mt. Fuji i.e. Konohanasakuya-hime-no-mikoto protects a mother at the time of delivering a baby.
People visit this shrine with a new born baby to seek blessings. This goddess is also worshiped for art, beauty and entertainment.
The sacred trees inside the shrine with a big size knot draw attention quickly. There were four trees bordering the shrine. The three remaining trees are standing to the height of 23m and getting 1000 years old.
